Changing tides

We've had a few big changes in the last few days! Monica left the field to travel back to Scotland, where she graduated from St. Andrews with her graduate degree today. Congrats, Monica, and thank you for all of your help!!!

In addition to Areeba joining the team, we will also be receiving help from the new University of Florida stranding coordinator, Amber Lea. You may have met Amber Lea at the World of Beer event a few days ago, where she helped us fund-raise! We look forward to having her on the boat with us a couple days a week for the rest of the field season!

To fill the void of having Monica leave, we welcomed Areeba as a new full-time assistant. Areeba recently completed her Bachelor's of Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. While at Dalhousie, Areeba helped create a photo-ID catalog of Dusky dolphins and also worked in a canid behavior research lab. She will be assisting from now until the end of the field season on August 20th.
